Vendors can create listings, manage orders, track sales activity, and receive payouts through Stripe Express while keeping their business organized in one place.
Start Selling Without Building a Website
Many small vendors rely on Facebook posts, messages, comments, cash payments, or word of mouth to manage sales. Chefatron gives vendors a more organized way to present what they offer, receive orders, and keep track of sales activity without needing to create their own website.
Your Own Vendor Storefront
Approved vendors receive a vendor space on Chefatron where customers can view their listings, learn what they offer, and place orders when available.
This gives vendors a simple online presence that can be shared with customers, friends, family, and local community members.
Vendor approval gives access to Chefatron’s vendor tools, but it does not mean Chefatron verifies licenses, permits, food safety compliance, insurance, tax status, or legal authority to sell a specific product or service.
Product and Service Listings
Vendors can create listings with photos, descriptions, prices, categories, and details so customers understand what is being offered before they order.
Listings may include food, items, services, or other approved offerings that follow Chefatron’s posting rules and applicable laws.
Vendors are responsible for making sure their listings are accurate, lawful, safe, and allowed under Chefatron’s rules.
Order Tracking
When customers place orders through Chefatron, vendors can view order information through the vendor dashboard. This can help vendors stay organized instead of trying to manage everything through scattered messages, comments, screenshots, or handwritten notes.
Vendors are responsible for reviewing order details, communicating with customers, and fulfilling orders as described.
Sales Records and Reports
Chefatron’s vendor tools may help vendors review sales activity, order history, and related records. These records can help vendors stay more organized and may be useful when preparing their own bookkeeping or tax information.
Chefatron may collect applicable sales tax on taxable paid transactions completed through the website where required by law.
Vendors remain responsible for keeping their own records, tracking income and expenses, reviewing payout information, and working with a qualified professional when needed.
Chefatron does not provide tax, legal, accounting, insurance, or licensing advice.
Stripe Express Payouts
Vendor payments may be handled through Stripe Express. Approved vendors may be required to connect their Stripe Express account so they can receive payouts and view payout-related information through Stripe.
Payout timing, verification requirements, bank account updates, payment holds, disputes, chargebacks, reserves, and payout availability are managed through Stripe and may vary depending on the vendor’s account status and Stripe’s requirements.
Vendors are responsible for maintaining their Stripe Express account, payout information, bank information, and verification status.
Simple Fee Structure
Chefatron’s current standard platform commission is 5% of vendor sales completed through the website, unless otherwise stated.
Vendors are also responsible for applicable Stripe or payment processing fees, unless Chefatron states otherwise. These processing fees are separate from Chefatron’s platform commission.
Fees, commission rates, payment processing fees, payout timing, and related payment terms may change over time.
Marketplace Exposure
Chefatron helps vendors get in front of customers who are browsing for food, items, services, and local marketplace options.
Instead of relying only on social media posts or word of mouth, vendors can be part of a marketplace designed to help people discover local offerings.
Chefatron does not guarantee sales, traffic, customer interest, search placement, or business results.
A More Professional Customer Experience
Chefatron gives vendors a cleaner way to present their offerings, receive orders, and build customer confidence.
Customers can view listings, see details, and use the checkout process when available instead of relying only on private messages or informal arrangements.
Using Chefatron checkout can also create clearer order records for customers and vendors.
Vendor Responsibilities
Vendors are responsible for their own listings, pricing, fulfillment, shipping, customer communication, refunds, taxes, licenses, permits, insurance, food safety requirements, and legal compliance.
Food-related vendors are responsible for understanding and following applicable food safety, cottage food, labeling, licensing, pickup, delivery, shipping, sales, tax, and local/state requirements.
Chefatron provides marketplace tools and vendor access, but vendors remain responsible for making sure their products, services, food items, and business activities follow applicable laws and rules.
Swaps and Vendor Sales Are Different
Vendors may also use Chefatron as regular users for swaps or requests, but vendor sales and regular swaps are treated differently.
Vendor sales may use Chefatron checkout and Stripe Express.
Swaps, barter listings, requests, and off-platform arrangements are handled directly between users. Chefatron does not process payment or collect commission on those arrangements unless specifically stated.
