Before posting a listing, please review the guidelines below. These help keep Chefatron clear, fair, and easy to use for everyone.
All users and vendors are responsible for making sure their listings, swaps, requests, products, services, and messages are accurate, lawful, safe, and allowed under Chefatron’s rules.
What Chefatron Is
Chefatron is a community marketplace where people can offer food, items, services — or a mix of all three — in a single listing, exchange, vendor offering, swap, or request.
Chefatron provides tools to help users create listings, communicate, browse offerings, arrange exchanges, complete vendor checkout when available, and connect with vendors.
Specific details such as value, timing, payment, pickup, delivery, shipping, scheduling, and fulfillment are agreed upon between users and/or vendors through listings, orders, and messages unless otherwise stated.
Chefatron does not directly make, prepare, inspect, deliver, guarantee, or provide the products, services, food items, or swaps listed by users or vendors.
General Posting Rules
All listings, swaps, requests, products, services, and messages should be honest, clear, and appropriate for the platform.
Users and vendors should not post anything that is false, misleading, unsafe, illegal, prohibited, offensive, abusive, or likely to create risk for Chefatron or its users.
Chefatron may remove or edit listings, restrict account access, suspend vendor access, or remove users if posts violate platform rules or create safety, legal, compliance, or customer trust concerns.
Pricing, Trades, and Value
Listings on Chefatron may be barter-based, value-based, service-based, or vendor-sale based depending on the type of listing.
For swap or request listings, the Price field may represent the estimated value of the listing, not necessarily a required cash payment.
If you expect cash, partial payment, future payment, or a specific trade value, this should be clearly explained in your listing description.
Users are responsible for confirming whether they are legally allowed to accept payment, trade, barter, or offer the item or service involved.
Vendor listings that use Chefatron checkout may include a listed price for customer purchases. Vendors are responsible for making sure their prices, descriptions, and offerings are accurate.
Vendor Fees, Sales Tax, and Payment Processing
Paid vendor sales completed through Chefatron checkout may be subject to platform fees, payment processing fees, and applicable sales tax.
Chefatron’s current standard platform commission is 5% of vendor sales, unless otherwise stated.
Vendors are responsible for applicable Stripe or payment processing fees, unless Chefatron states otherwise. These processing fees are separate from Chefatron’s platform commission.
Chefatron may collect applicable sales tax on taxable paid transactions completed through the website where required by law.
Fees, commission rates, payment processing fees, payout timing, and related payment terms may change over time.
Taxes and Off-Platform Arrangements
Users, sellers, and vendors are responsible for understanding and following any applicable federal, state, and local tax requirements that apply to their own listings, sales, swaps, services, income, business activities, licenses, permits, and records.
Free swaps, barter listings, requests, and off-platform arrangements are handled directly between users. Chefatron does not process payment or collect commission on those arrangements unless specifically stated.
If an individual user or vendor completes an off-platform taxable sale, that user or vendor is responsible for their own tax obligations.
Chefatron does not provide tax, legal, accounting, licensing, or financial advice.
Communication and Expectations
Use Chefatron messages or available order communication tools to discuss details such as timing, location, pickup, delivery, shipping, scheduling, exchange terms, product details, or service expectations.
Be respectful, responsive, and clear when communicating with others. Final arrangements are made directly between users or between customers and vendors unless otherwise stated.
Users and vendors should not pressure, harass, threaten, mislead, or abuse others through the platform.
Accurate Listings
Listings should clearly describe what is being offered or requested.
When posting, include helpful details such as:
- What is being offered
- What is being requested
- Price or trade expectations when applicable
- Pickup, delivery, shipping, or scheduling details
- Location or service area
- Item condition when applicable
- Ingredients or food details when applicable
- Common allergens when applicable
- Service limitations or requirements
- Clear photos when helpful
Users and vendors should not exaggerate, hide important details, use misleading photos, or make claims they cannot support.
Food, Services, and Legal Responsibility
Food-related listings, services, and vendor offerings may have additional legal, safety, licensing, labeling, tax, pickup, delivery, shipping, or local/state requirements.
Users and vendors are responsible for confirming whether they are legally allowed to make, sell, trade, deliver, ship, offer, or provide food items or services through Chefatron.
Chefatron does not verify that every food listing, food vendor, kitchen, ingredient, preparation method, delivery method, license, permit, inspection, certification, insurance, or pickup arrangement complies with all applicable laws or regulations.
Food listings should be clear and should include important details when appropriate, such as ingredients, common allergens, quantity, pickup or delivery details, storage needs, and timing.
Do not list or sell food items that you are not legally allowed to offer.
Services
Service listings should clearly describe the service being offered, the location or service area, pricing or trade expectation, scheduling expectations, limitations, and any important requirements.
Users and vendors are responsible for making sure they are legally allowed and qualified to provide the service they list.
Services that require a license, permit, certification, insurance, or other legal requirement are the responsibility of the person or vendor offering the service.
Items
Item listings should accurately describe the item, condition, price or trade expectation, pickup, delivery, shipping details, and any known issues.
Users and vendors should not list stolen, counterfeit, unsafe, recalled, illegal, restricted, or misleading items.
Chefatron may remove item listings that appear suspicious, unsafe, prohibited, or inconsistent with platform rules.
Bundles
Chefatron allows users and vendors to create listings or exchanges that combine different types of value, such as food, items, services, or other approved offerings.
Bundle posts should be clear about what is included, what is being requested, who is responsible for each part, and whether money, trade, service, pickup, delivery, shipping, or scheduling is involved.
Users should communicate clearly before agreeing to a bundle.
Swaps and Requests
Swaps and requests are arranged directly between users. Chefatron does not process payment for swaps and does not guarantee that a swap will be completed or that both parties will be satisfied.
Users are responsible for reviewing posts, asking questions, confirming details, and deciding whether they are comfortable moving forward.
Chefatron may review complaints involving swaps, remove posts, restrict accounts, or suspend users if there are reports of scams, unsafe behavior, repeated no-shows, harassment, misleading posts, or other policy violations.
Off-Platform Payments
Users and vendors should be cautious with off-platform payments, including cash, payment apps, private messages, or other payment arrangements outside Chefatron’s checkout system.
Chefatron may have limited ability to review, track, or assist with issues involving off-platform payments.
Vendor sales should use Chefatron’s official checkout process whenever available so there is a clearer order record.
Off-platform payments may make it harder to track payment, taxes, refunds, delivery, disputes, or order history.
Vendor Access Approval
Vendor access approval is the process Chefatron uses to decide whether a user may access vendor posting tools and sell through the vendor marketplace.
Approval gives a user access to vendor posting tools, but it does not mean Chefatron has verified licenses, permits, food safety compliance, insurance, qualifications, tax status, or the legality of any product or service offered.
Vendors are responsible for following all applicable laws, licensing, tax, food safety, safety, fulfillment, refund, and customer communication requirements for anything they offer on Chefatron.
Approved vendors may be required to complete Stripe Express account setup before receiving payments and fully using vendor selling features.
Vendor Responsibilities
Vendors are responsible for their own listings, pricing, fulfillment, shipping, customer communication, refunds, taxes, licenses, permits, insurance, food safety requirements, and legal compliance.
Vendors should review Chefatron’s Vendor Participation Agreement, Vendor Payments & Payouts Guide, Refunds/Complaints/Disputes Policy, Food Safety & Compliance page, and other vendor materials before selling through the platform.
Prohibited Posts
Users and vendors may not post listings, swaps, requests, products, services, messages, or content involving prohibited, illegal, unsafe, or inappropriate activity.
Examples may include:
- Illegal items or services
- Stolen or counterfeit goods
- Unsafe or recalled products
- Misleading or fraudulent listings
- Harassment, threats, or abusive content
- Adult sexual content or services
- Weapons or dangerous items
- Illegal drugs or controlled substances
- Tobacco, nicotine, or vaping products
- Alcohol sales
- Prescription medications
- Gambling-related products or services
- Hate, violence, or discriminatory content
- Services or activities involving minors in unsafe or inappropriate ways
- Any listing that creates legal, safety, compliance, or platform risk
Chefatron may update prohibited posting rules at any time.
Photos and Content
Photos should accurately represent the item, food, service, or offering being posted.
Users and vendors should not upload photos or content that they do not have the right to use, that misleads customers, or that violates another person’s rights.
Chefatron may remove photos, listings, or content that appears inappropriate, misleading, unsafe, or inconsistent with platform rules.
Reporting a Listing or Problem
If you see a listing, user, vendor, message, or activity that appears unsafe, misleading, prohibited, illegal, or inconsistent with Chefatron’s rules, please contact Chefatron with as much detail as possible.
Helpful information may include the listing link, user or vendor name, screenshots, order details, messages, dates, and a short explanation of the concern.
For paid vendor orders completed through Chefatron checkout, Chefatron may review available order records, payment status, user communication, vendor response, and platform policies.
For free swaps, barter listings, requests, or off-platform arrangements, Chefatron may review reports and take moderation action when appropriate, but Chefatron does not guarantee refunds, reimbursement, replacement items, enforcement of private agreements, or resolution of off-platform disputes.
